Rainbow Wood is currently continuing to operate during the Coronavirus situation, although inevitably there is some impact on our business.
COVID-19 UPDATE 16th July 2021
Hopefully this should be the last time I need to write regarding restrictions on our service due to Covid 19.
Our current situation is that we are doing our best to operate a normal service. We are still delivering beds to customers on the basis of delivering into the home, but still not room of choice. We are working to our normal timescales as detailed on the website. There are some stock issues on some lines but most products are available.
We are performing assemblies with sensible precautions in place. Please inform us of any positive cases or Isolation issues.
Our shop is open to our normal hours of 10-5, Monday to Saturday. Whilst not a legal requirement from 19th July, we would prefer you to still wear a mask whilst in the shop. We are answering the phones and emails as normal.

COVID-19 UPDATE 5th March 2021
Hi again, I just thought that it was time for another update.
With the lock down still in place and the vaccine programme rolling out successfully, we are starting to feel optimistic with a date for being able to reopen the shop and welcome you back in person.
We are still in the position of delivery only to the doorstep or safe place and are still not in a position to start doing bed assemblies yet. This is something that we are looking at but haven’t committed to a date as yet. For those customers that we already have with orders placed and waiting for assemblies we will be in touch with info when we have it.

COVID-19 UPDATE 5th January 2021
I wasn’t expecting to have to update so soon, but with the update last night from Mr Johnson, I am.
We will still be delivering beds across the country on the basis of a doorstep delivery system. This delivery will be based on delivering either into a hallway or a garage or other safe place. The driver will be aware of minimal contact will work in a safe manor. We are working on delivery times of 4-6 weeks but will obviously still have the aim of beating these times where possible.
All assembly services will be suspended for the foreseeable future, pending updates after the end of Lockdown.

COVID-19 UPDATE 4th January 2021
With most of the country now in either Tier 3 or 4 we are only able to achieve deliveries and not assemblies. (We had previously made the decision to only assemble in Tier 1 and 2) Please do not select the assembly option on the order form. Should assembly be something that you need please speak to us and your order could be put on hold until the restrictions allow this service to recommence.
Deliveries will continue as doorstep delivery only, where the bed will be delivered to a safe place but not room of choice.

COVID-19 UPDATE 31st October 2020
Whilst trying to achieve the best possible service to our customers we have still been offering the assembly service, but with an extended lead time. We have now got to a point of capacity in the run up to Christmas.
Additionally we are now in the situation of increased Covid-19 restrictions and pending further updates are suspending any new orders for the assembly service. Unfortunately we are unable to remove this as an option on the choices on each individual product. Please do not choose this option. We hope to be able to offer this service again as soon as the situation allows.
As for current assemblies we are working on the practicalities of achieving these and relevant customers will be advised on a individual basis.

COVID-19 UPDATE 7th October 2020
The reopening of the shop has gone well and with sensible social distancing being applied and managing numbers in the shop in a real time basis and possibly asking you to wait outside while the shop clears, we feel that booking appointments is no longer needed.
Over the summer we have seen a large volume of product sold within the children’s bed industry which has lead to many out of stock situations in all aspects of product from all of our suppliers This unfortunately has increased our normal lead times from 4 weeks to 6 weeks or in some cases more for many of our products.
It seems that the complete supply chain is running slower than it was. A mattress may need a spring supplier, a foam supplier, a fabric supplier and a filling supplier, all of which need to supply to enable manufacture of one mattress, and so on.
Bed Assembly, we have started to do assemblies again but this time has also increased due to stock issues and also the time needed to fit assemblies in. We are currently suggesting upto 8 weeks for this service.
Whilst we always like to accommodate customers requests for faster deliveries, and will always try our best, this is not always possible, and may have the result of slowing an existing order down. Please understand that we are not being awkward, simply trying to do our best when we are unable to be as quick as you would like.

COVID-19 UPDATE 15th June 2020
We have reopened our shop to the public on Monday 15th June.
We will be open to the public 10-3 Monday – Saturday
We have set up distancing precautions around the shop to help to keep you and us safe.
As you will know if you have visited us before, we don’t have a great amount of room and should we experience busy times we may ask you to wait outside for a short while. Please don’t be offended.
If you are coming to look at a bed, rather than our fantastic range of Brio and Bigjigs and many more, we would ask that you ring ahead and let us know, particularly on a Saturday where we can have a few families at once.
You could plan ahead so you have the shop to yourselves.

At the moment we continue with the suspension of this service. At a point where government advise suggests that we are able to safely enter customers houses, we will resume this service as soon as whatever working practices may be set are met.

COVID-19 UPDATE 27th April 2020
A month on from the last update and we are doing our best to still deliver orders and are achieving near normal delivery time for most of our deliveries. Assemblies are still not possible but we are happy to offer advice on builds over the phone or even via video call to help at those awkward moments.
I have some suppliers that are not open at the moment, Sweetdreams divans and mattresses, Friendship Mill products, Extreme Lounging beanbags, and extended leadtimes on Scallywag. Other suppliers are still as normal as possible at the moment.
We are still in the office on a daily basis and are happy to take you calls and queries.

COVID-19 UPDATE 28th March 2020
Whilst things are far from normal, we are still trying to make it that way. We are taking precautions to keep staff and customers safe.
The Shop is closed but the office is still being staffed on a daily basis between 10 and 3 and we are still endeavouring to make deliveries to the doorstep where possible, although not assemblies.
Please accept that lead times may be extended.

At present (Thursday 19th March) we are continuing to operate a full delivery schedule with room of choice delivery (where delivering in our vehicles).
Our drivers are taking appropriate precautions to reduce potential cross-contamination.
Should Government guidance change this may impact on our ability to continue to offer deliveries to room of choice and assemblies. In this case assuming travel restrictions are not also in place, we will continue to offer deliveries but to the doorstep.
Due to potential staffing issues (primarily due to child care), dispatch of smaller items may take slightly longer than normal. Normally we would aim to dispatch in stock items on the next working day after order, however it may take 1-2 days longer. If you need an item quickly, we would recommend you select Express Delivery.
Our showroom remains open, however from Monday 23rd March until further notice we will be operating reduced showroom opening hours:
